Yoga Sports are athletic competitions demonstrated by the beauty of demanding yoga postures and through the dedication, endurance and unyielding determination of the competitors. IYSF is working with several Yoga Federations around the world, to develop Yoga Sports in to an official Olympic Sport.
Yoga as a sport?
There is still so much controversy surrounding the concept of Yoga as a Sport.
Knowing that Yoga is one of the six philosophical systems of India, Yoga Sports focuses on the Asanas. The Asanas are one of the eight limbs of Yoga, where we can meet outside and verify our inner work.
Governance
The International Yoga Sports Federation (“IYSF”) has been constituted on April 29, 2013, as a non-profit Association under Swiss law with its seat in Lausanne.
